Renter Insurance

===============================================
======================================================================
You need to pay Renter's insurance when you move-in to an apartment. Last time I used www.rentersinsurance.net for renters insurance and paid $111 for 1 year. This time I worked with a MetLife agent (the same guy we met in Commons for auto insurance - David J. Wenzler Insurance Professional '425.6141112 Cell 206-790-0659) and he found http://www.safeco.com/ for $90 for 1 year. Most of the apartment communities follow the same rules for renter's insurance which is below.

===
Sign up for or transfer renter’s insurance. You will need at least $100,000 of Personal Liability Coverage.  Information provided on www.eRenterPlan.comNote: You may obtain insurance from any carrier authorized or admitted to do business in[WA].  On move-in day, proof of current renter’s insurance is required.

The same guy worked with http://www.safeco.com/ to get an auto insurance $985 for 1 year. We can pay this amount at once which will reduce the amount to $939.40 for 1 year.

Hope this will help you too....

Get it with the same company that does your car. I actually switched to Pemco for renters/auto since their price was almost half of what everyone else wanted (+ awesome service)

Just got new renter’s insurance + car insurance with multi-policy discount for me and my wife through FirstTech and worked with them before – at the present time, Travelers had the best deal.

I’ve been working with Steve Parsons (Steve.Parsons@firsttechfed.com) and he should be able to answer your questions.  He’s very responsive, no frills/fast turnaround in getting you the best deal and the paperwork in your inbox (scans/PDF) - which suits me just fine.

His phone details are:

425.956.7146 p
800.637.0852 x7146 t
425.956.7138 f

Btw - the real money saver came from the fact that we got married and are now on a single policy – this cut car insurance nearly in half for both of us.

If you’re interested in a great insurance agent give Barry Hasson a call.  For nearly 15 years he and his folks have gone above and beyond when it comes to getting me the best insurance rates.  Pretty sure he’s been voted one of the top agents in Seattle for a number of years as well.

I went with Amica when I first moved here and stuck with them for 2 years and then got on Pemco (The best there is!).

Amica was also very good and never had a problem. Pemco was good with claims, customer service, follow up, etc. I’ll be moving back from Statefarm to Pemco this November.
